If you had the time
and concentration span, and maybe even enough money (or a big
enough loan, if your bank manager was unusually generous), you
could probably make a site like Hot Movies. All you do is
buy a bunch of webspace, licence loads of DVD titles, and you're
ready to rumble. This is by no means meant as a criticism of Hot
Movies. Let's face it, we should thank the heavens that they do
have the patience to set up such a site!
There are no
subtleties or nuances that you should be made aware of during
the course of this review. The only complexities you may face
are in the pricing system, which can be a little daunting
to take on if you have never come across such a site before.
I wouldn't bother
with the pay-per-minute system if I were you, it's far too
expensive. I probably shouldn't say that because you might
wander in, watch a DVD for 5 hours, rack up a fortune in fees,
and then we make a load of money from it. Mwahahaha! But we
really don't want to see anyone bankrupted.
Use the prepaid
credit system instead. In terms of value for money, it's about
on a par with buying a title yourself, so it's not necessarily
the greatest in terms of value.
However, the
range of titles available almost results in incalculable
convenience. That's really what most of your money will go on.
Plus, you can spend the money on what you want, when you want.
If you get bored of a title, just switch it off before incurring
any more charges and spend your money on something better. It's
also a blessed relief not to have to worry about bloody
recurring fees too. You can just stick a few dollars, pounds or
your preferred currency in the account and use it whenever you
want.
The titles
themselves cover a huge range of genres and niches and come from
an enormous range of studios and stars too. In fact, there
aren't really any big name stars that I could think of that
don't feature on Hot Movies.
It's therefore
almost impossible to pick a favourite, but two big
recommendations would be, for lesbian fans, Kill Girl Kill 2,
and for hardcore fans, Lick My Balls, featuring a quite
amazing display of oral dexterity and depth from the delectable Dani
Woodward. I gag sometimes just brushing my teeth, so how
does she manage what she does here?!
