cyber-squatters must cream themselves over.

The very nature of all live cam sites
that I've seen dictate that in terms of
quality, they're all much the same. I've
yet to happen across a live cam site
where the performers are heavily
auditioned or vetted before they are
allowed to perform. I'm sure there is
probably one out there, but I've not
seen it. But to stand out, they need a
good range of performers, great
presentation and navigation, lots of
performers online, and decent going
rates. Free chats also help.
In terms of these points, Webcams.com
scores about 2½ out of 5. Over 300
performers were online when I was online
and I'm sure this number will be a lot
higher at American prime time. The range
was pretty good too - there was a
specialist section for men and
transsexuals, and there were plenty of
those online too. The going rates though
were generally around $2.99 per minute,
and when you consider that some cam
sites can offer hardcore performers at
as little as 60c per minute on
occasions. Costs can stack up.
The organisation was alright but the
categories are really broad. I'd like
more categorisation than just couples,
straight women, gay guys and
transsexuals. That doesn't really narrow
things down for me. But there is some
good biographical stuff on performers,
if they've bothered to fill in the
forms, that is. The quality of the cams
obviously depends on the performers.
So Webcams.com isn't doing too
badly, I would say. I've seen it
criticised in some quarters for grouchy
performers in free chats, but again,
this is hardly the site's fault - and it
is good that there are free text
chats. If I were the webmasters, I
would make performers post regular
photos too and, for the health of fans
of transsexuals out there, make sure
such performers are actually packing the
real thing rather than a plastic effort
- otherwise those performers are just
conning subscribers when it's all said
and done.

Webcams.com is not bad on the whole, but in all
categories it's at least not quite as good as another
webcam site out there. However, at least you can be
guaranteed lots of performers online, and at no point is
the site ever bad. |
